Brutus is doing well learning "gentle" when taking treats. He has quickly learned to sit/wait for his food until released with the "okay" command. He is still learning that okay means go get the food. Brutus loves to play ball and chase. He really loves squeaky toys, they don't last very long ... he will play with them until they are torn.
Brutus is VERY persistent in getting his way. Although this is typical of his breed, he will need a home that understands this and respects his bully ways. But more importantly he will need a "Strong Pack Leader" that HE will respect and look up too.
He loves to play with his boxer sister but he tends to look for space and time away from her. Brutus went hiking and loved the outdoors. It gave him the opportunity to meet a male dog coming the opposite direction on the trail. It didn't go well though. I'm going to say that Brutus will need very slow introductions to any new dog and probably be best in a home with a submissive female or a home of his own. Brutus also has a tendency to be mouthy when he is very excited. He nips like a puppy so we are working on this. behavior.
We are proud of how far Brutus has come in such a short time and feel that he will make a wonderful forever pet for the right family. He is a cuddle bug and truly a big softy. He even cries like a puppy when his human boy leaves for school and runs to the door when he returns home each day. Did we mention he loves the bathtub? Well he does! So keeping him clean is not an issue. Kids over 12.
