Pan is an absolutely gorgeous border collie, born on St. Patricks Day six years ago in Tallahassee, FL. Are you ready for a dog that's smarter than a 5th grader? If you are, then read on...

Pan is a typical border collie in so many ways - she loves to play chase and tug, she lives to please her humans, and she is extremely easy to train. She loves to give hugs and absolutely ADORES playing with the tennis ball - her new family must commit to throwing her tennis ball a few dozen times per day in a nice, safe, fenced backyard.

Pan is extremely well trained - she knows many basic commands and has been living with an enthusiastic and talented trainer for a long while. Because she is a very special dog and craves being the center of attention, Pan will only be placed in a home where she is their one and only dog and can demand all the attention she could ever want. Sadly, she is not getting along with one of the other dogs and must be separated, and her family is looking to rehome her through SOHO. She is somewhat dog reactive, so will need a family that can understand her need to be the "only dog".

Pan is your typical border collie in that she is snuggly, intelligent, and bonds strongly to her people. She is talented and loving, and would make a great addition to any family that wants to give all of their love to one dog. She does get along with older children just fine, but because of her breed, we would like to make sure she goes to a home with children 12 and older.

The family has chosen to remain private at this time, and will continue to keep Pan in their home while we search for an adopter. If you would like to be considered to adopt this wonderful border collie, please submit an application at the link below. Please also provide a vet reference. About Save Our Herders Outreach

About Our Rescue Group...

Save Our Herders Outreach (SOHO) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to herding breed and herding mixed dogs in need. We concentrate our rescue efforts in Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Most of our volunteers and fosters live in those states and share their homes with their own Border collies, Australian Shepherds, Australian Cattle Dogs, Working Kelpies, Corgis and/or Shetland Sheepdogs.

Our dogs come from several sources. Many come from high kill shelters where they were either found as strays or abandoned by their owners. Some were turned over to us by owners who could no longer care for them. Regardless of where they came from, our goal for every dog is the same - a forever home where they will be loved and considered a part of the family.

Come Meet Our Pets...

To meet our pets, we do require an application and an appointment as all of our pets are in foster homes.

Our Adoption Process...

The fee to adopt a dog is $250. We do require a vet reference, three personal references, and a home visit prior to adoption, and we require signature on a contract to adopt the dog. Your current pets must be up to date on vaccinations (though we accept titering records as well), and heartworm preventative.
