And now, a few words from me:

I thought to myself, am I dreaming or is this all real?  Could it be that regular good meals, a nice cozy crate with soft fluffy blankets, kindness and lots of room to run around is normal?  I don’t know but I am going to enjoy every minute of it.

And now, a few words from my foster mom:

Ella is progressing nicely but will need an understanding family that will allow her advance at her own speed.  She is inquisitive which is great; she is checking everything out.  She arrived very afraid and nervous and spent most of her time in or beside her crate where she felt safer.  She now ventures out with the family and with the other dogs and is trying to get them to play with her.   She has also been throwing a soft toy around and bringing my slippers out to the living room.  She doesn’t chew them just drags them out.

Ella had dental work done and teeth removed causing her tongue to hang out most of the time, which we think is very cute.   She is going outside to potty but still has the odd accident.  She will also use a puppy training pad.  We think she has done great for the short time she has been here.   She is crate trained and will go in on her own.

Ella was a puppy mill mom and she now deserves to be pampered and loved. She is slowly learning to trust humans and to know that they aren’t going to hurt her. She will need the patience of someone who has experience, especially with a mill dog. Ella will definitely need another small calm dog in the home as she finds comfort in and learns from other dogs.  A secure fenced yard is another requirement as Ella like all puppy mill dogs may bolt if given the chance.

We know Ella will become a great companion and trusting soul when given the chance.  All it will take is a little time.  Can you give her that?

Update  October 8/16

This is the life and I still can't believe how different it is from my last life.  I feel so good and bounce around playing with the stuffed toys.  I have learned so many new things since I last wrote.  I love to get on the couch and lie beside my foster mom.  She doesn't bother me but the odd time she runs her hand softly down my back I jump off but right away get back up. That is the next wonderful thing for me to get used to.

Treats are something I take right out of my foster parents hands now so you see I am growing every day.  I am waiting for my forever family and I am sure they will be coming soon.  I would love to be in my forever home before Christmas so that Santa knows where to leave my gifts.

Our Adoption Process...

In order to adopt from us, you need to complete an adoption application. Follow this link

Once the application is completed, it will be reviewed for suitability, and if yes, we will book a telephone interview with you, and check the veterinary and personal references that you provided. If that goes well, a home visit will be booked, and if your home is safe, the adoption can proceed. You will be required to execute and adoption contract and pay a set adoption fee
