Max's Story...
If you're a Terrier fan (Boston and Jack Russell), then Max is the boy for you! He's about 4 1/2 years old, and weighs just under 30 pounds. Max has lots of energy, and he likes to play rough. Because of this, we recommend a home without small children. Max must meet any resident dog(s) in a potential new home, to make sure they get along. Here at the shelter, Max seems friendly when introduced to other dogs. Max lived with a cat in his previous home, and seems okay with the cats here at the shleter.

* Max has tested positive for Lyme Disease, but we have not observed any symptoms. *

** Max qualifies for our Adult Companion program - details at hswaynepets.org/policies/incentiveprograms.shtm **

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Lyons Boston Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boston Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Lyons, or seeking a Boston Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Lyons.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lyons already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lyons breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boston Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Boston Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lyons paves the way for another one to be saved.
