RUSTY (R)'s Story...
Rusty is as cute and happy as can be. This 4 year old, 43 pound boy follows commands such as sit, shake and lay down. He's like a small adorable lab mix with beautiful brindle coloring. Rusty had a little bit of thin hair when he arrived but that has filled in nicely. It may have been a simple flea allergy that will not repeat when he is on routine flea/heartworm preventative. Rusty wandered too far from home and came to the shelter on 9/8. He is currently available for adoption. Rusty is up to date with shots, neutered, heartworm tested negative and will be micro-chipped upon adoption. He's in Run 878 and his ID is 588789.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

RUSTY (R), a Marietta Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
