Shorty is a 12-year-old, 25-pound Basset Hound/Lab mix. Patches is his best friend and she is a 13-year-old, 33-pound Queensland Heeler. They have a very strong bond and need to be adopted together.
Shorty is a mellow guy who is very sweet with all people. He has a charming, calm personality. He gets along well with other dogs and is a well-behaved boy. He loves being petted and will give little kisses to tell you he's happy being around you.
Patches is also a wonderful dog and has a quiet, calm demeanor. She is happy to accept scratches behind the ears and will walk up to anyone to say 'hi.' She is mostly deaf and has mild arthritis in her hips but has a very gentle, loving soul. Patches treats Shorty like her puppy and takes care of him. They tend to stick together and are very bonded.
Shorty and Patches are house-trained and walk nicely on the leash, though they won't need long walks to tire them out. We do not know if they have lived with cats before but they are very calm dogs and would probably be fine with feline friends in the household. They are currently outdoor-only dogs and would love an opportunity to come back in the house and be a part of a family again.
Shorty and Patches came to POMDR after their guardian passed away and their guardian's family members were unable to care for him.
