Do you have a friendly cat who wants a playmate? Then CHUPIE is the cat for you! He is a handsome and plush black male kitty with a sweet face. He is very active, and can keep himself occupied with a little toy mouse or puff ball for hours -- but what he really loves is a buddy for wrestling sessions and races up and down the hall. He had a rough start in life since we rescued him from a group of kittens that all needed alot of medical attention, plus he had a stubborn skin infection. He was almost bald when we first got him and had to spend much of his young life in a cage. After many months of love and care, he's now been able to live a more normal life in a foster home where he's blossomed into an affectionate and cuddly young boy who will often melt into your arms. Chupie will need to be given time by his adopter to settle into a new environment, but once comfortable, he's very loving and cheerf ul. He makes good use of his sisal-covered scratching post so his new owner should definitely get him o ne. His favorite petting spots are the sides of his face and the base of his tail (he even likes his tummy rubbed). With patience and a slow introduction, this sweet boy will make an awesome lifetime companion. He has been neutered, is up to date on vaccinations, has tested negative for FELV/FIV, is microchipped, has been treated for fleas and worms, and comes with a free vet visit. His adoption fee is just $75 (and this allows us to help another homeless cat). CHUPIE is currently in foster care; please call Beth at (541) 255-9296 to meet him.

About West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for companion animals of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd. WCDC works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. WCDC is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help WCDC save as many animal lives as possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 11-4pm Sat.-Sun.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.
