Volcano's Story...
Meet Volcano, a gentle and quiet 3 year old red and white tabby available for adoption. Volcano was found as a stray, and made quite the impression from the moment he came in. This poor boy got stressed and upset about being in a cage minutes after arriving so we made some accommodations to help him relax. He got his own "suite" complete with a small cat condo and was able to be loose during the day. Volcano loved this idea and quickly settled in. He is about the most relaxed kitty who is found snoozing on the counter or his little bed. He loves human affection and will grab on to your leg if you walk past him without giving him some pets or kisses. Volcano seems ok with other cats but we are unsure about dogs. He is however afraid of a few things- brooms, mops, water bottles, and some cat toys. He would love nothing more than to pass his days on a window sill or a warm lap. His adoption fee is $110 and includes all his vaccines, registered microchip, fecal exam, deworming, FIV/Felv test, and neuter.

Volcano, a Joliet Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Joliet, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Joliet.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Joliet already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Joliet breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Joliet paves the way for another one to be saved.
