Brandi is a seven year old spayed brown and white Pomeranian. Please read her bio thoroughly she has been traumatized as a puppy mill dog and is looking for a very special person. Brandi was adopted previously from SDR and recently surrendered by her owners. They felt she would do better in a family that had more time to work with her shyness. Brandi is extremely shy and needs a very patient family that understands that it could take her a very long time to earn her trust. Brandi currently will not let you get near her, to touch her, pick her up, or put on her leash. Brandi is a very sweet and playful girl! She loves playing fetch! She could do this endlessly. Even though she is very shy she will very rarely lick her fosters hand permit being petted. She will then let her foster pet her. She walks very well on a leash and uses a potty pad during the day. She will alert her foster that she needs to go out by staring at them and sometimes whines. Brandi gets along very well with other dogs. But, would do best in a family as a only dog or possibly one other well adjusted dog to insure she gets all the time and attention she will need to eventually come out of her shell. A fenced yard is also a requirement for Brandi. The new family needs to really understand that Brandi is not a lap dog due to her fear of being picked up. But with the right training this may help her trust. Brandi seems to really want to be part of the family and join the other dogs on her fosters lap but is unsure so she keeps her distance. Her adoption fee is $300.

About Small Dog Rescue of Minnesota

About Our Rescue Group...

Small Dog Rescue of Minnesota (SDR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all-volunteer no-kill group committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of dogs 20 pounds and under.

Dogs are fostered in volunteers' homes so they can be loved like a family member until they are placed in a suitable adoptive home, determined by a review of a written application, a criminal background check, several reference consultations, and a home visit.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events a few times a month in different locations throughout Minnesota. You can see where we'll be by visiting our Events Page on our website at

Our Adoption Process...

3. If the application is aproved, a home visit will be conducted to ensure a good match with the applicant & the dog.

4. If SDR determines a good match has been made, an adoption contract between the adopter and SDR will be completed. An adoption fee + applicable MN state sales tax are due at the time the contract is signed.
