Gilly's Story...
Gilly was impounded at a high kill shelter and no one wanted him because he was limping on his front leg. We saved him and now he is safe. We had him seen by an orthopedic vet and x-rays revealed he has a curvature in his radius. He could have been born this way or it may be an old injury. The vet felt it was best to leave it alone as it is a very invasive surgery in which he may be no better afterwards. We have him on a good diet, joint supplements and fish oil. He is now off pain medication and is not limping and his leg is not giving him any issues. Gilly is very sweet, friendly and good with people and kids. He gets along great with other dogs and cats too. He is 2-3 years old and weighs11 pounds. He enjoys walks and riding in the car. Please give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gilly, a San Pedro Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Maltese/Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
