Louie's Story...
Louie is a 3 y/o boy who has had a rough start to his new life with Houston Beagle Rescue. Before we could pull this handsome guy from a shelter north of Houston, he had his right eye removed to control a serious infection. Without the surgery, he could have gone blind in both eyes, but it would have been easier for him if he had known that a loving family was in his near future!

Louie is 15 inches tall and a slender 25 pounds. He is working on his house manners. As a yard dog in his previous life, he is now learning what he can and can not chew in the house. Louie is dog door trained and kennels without problems. He had some adjustment to living with other dogs who would come up to him from his blind side, but not any longer! Louie is fully adjusted to living with just one eye and can be seen flying around the yard in hot pursuit of one of his foster siblings!

Louie is a warm, loving boy who enjoys a good snuggle. He is going to make someone a first class companion. Be the first to apply to meet this wonderful beagle.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louie, a Houston Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Houston, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
