Timber's Story...
I’m neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, shy around new dogs.

Timber was an unfortunate product of divorce. With his new family in a bind, Timber came to Houston Beagle Rescue crate trained, housebroken, and ready to love. This 1 y/o boy is 14 inches tall and a slender 25 pounds. Timber is a sweet beagle that loves to give kisses so be prepared for a slobbery face when you meet him!!
Timber loves to play ball but can be a bit possessive of toys around other dogs. He can be a little timid around new dogs but with a little time to adjust, he will really start to come out of his shell. Timber gets very excited when people come over and has a habit of jumping. We have been working on this. He is a quick learner and is treat and attention driven which is great for training.

As with any beagle, Timber enjoys adventure and should be placed in a home with a secure, tall fence. He has been known to climb or jump a 42-inch chain link fence in the past.

Timber is one of the most loving dogs I have ever fostered. He is a fast learner and has nothing but love to give.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Timber, a Houston Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Houston, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
