There is a $50 adoption/rehoming fee. All supplies will be included.

I am a very sweet and pretty Black Lab mix with a heart of pure gold. I may be 9 years old, but I am very healthy and have lots of years of love left to offer my forever family. I am spayed, up to date on shots and perfectly house trained. I have been obedience trained, and am a polite, devoted, loving and compassionate family companion. I weigh around 60 pounds, and have a smooth, shiny black coat, and the brightest smile!

My owners are devastated to have to find me a new home. Unfortunately, the older dog in my home has some health problems which have made him rather cranky. He has become aggressive towards me, and in order to keep me safe, I really need to be placed in a new home.

My owners would love to keep in touch with me. I have been a part of the family for a long time, and I hold a large piece of their hearts. Hopefully that would be OK with you.

My ideal home would be with a loving family, couple or single with lots of time to spend with me. I get along great with other dogs, and I LOVE children. I have never been around cats, but I would most likely be just fine with them, as long as they like me.

One thing I am really, really good at is making everyone in my family feel special. I love to follow you around, cuddle up with you, hang on your every word, and give you my unwavering love and support. I am a great “welcome home committee” – whether you have been gone all day – or for just 5 minutes, you can count on receiving the warmest, most exuberant welcome every time.

So please, if you have room in your heart and home for unconditional love in the form of a 60 pound shiny black Lab mix, offer me my forever home today. I can’t wait to dazzle you with my smile and wiggle my way into your heart.

Love and licks,

About Houston Find My Pet A Home

About Our Rescue Group...

In many locations throughout the USA and Canada, shelters and rescues are filled to capacity, leaving pet owners who can no longer care for their pet with nowhere to turn. Many pets are needlessly being euthanized.

Being placed in a shelter is a very stressful experience for all pets - and their owners. We offer a very good alternative, allowing pets to stay in the loving care of their owners while a new home is located for them.

We have helped many pet owners in need to place their pet in a home where they have great peace of mind in knowing that their pet is being cherished, well cared for and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In most instances, our pets stay with their owners until a new home can be located. There are some situations which require a more urgent placement, and in these instances, we look for loving foster homes to care for these pets until a permanent home can be located.

Our Adoption Process...

When a pet is placed with our organization, our staff create a very honest and compelling adoption story about the pet, using the information provided to us.

We then spread the word about this pet's need for a new home through a wide variety of online services, and through local outreach.

Interested parties are directed to fill out a formal request to meet a pet, providing in-depth information about themselves.

Before a potential adopter is introduced to a pet, we do careful reference screening and a criminal records check.

Should the pet's owner and the adoptive party agree to an adoption, a formal agreement is entered into, requiring the new owner to agree to keep in touch, ensure the pet's physical and emotional well-being, and provide a safe, happy and healthy home.

They are required to agree that they will not surrender the pet to a shelter or give away the pet - but rather they are to contact our organization so that we can find another suitable home, in the event that they are unable to fulfill their commitment.

The owners deliver the pet to the new owners, so that they can do a home inspection prior to leaving the pet in the new owner's care.

Our organization provides follow-up services, contacting the new owners after the first week, and then every 45 days for the first nine months post-adoption. This helps ensure the pet is being well cared for, and that the new owners have any support they need in adjusting to life with their new companion,
