Celeste's Story...
Today’s horoscope says, “Adopt Celeste!” This beautiful and super sweet gal was running out of time at a rural shelter before a volunteer contacted St. Francis Humane Association for help. We welcomed her in to our adoption program and can’t wait to find her a home of her own! Celeste is charming and affectionate and would be a wonderful companion for anyone. She would likely do well in a home with children, another cat (or two) and could learn to love a dog. Celeste has been examined by a veterinarian, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, received her age appropriate vaccines and has been spayed and microchipped.

If you are interested in finding out more about Celeste or any of our other kitties, please contact St. Francis Humane Association at (804) 598-6636 or webmaster@stfrancisha.org. Check our website, www.stfrancisha.org, for our adoption event schedule!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Celeste, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
