Hi there! My name is Dixie and from all appearances in my photos and my video, I look like a mild –mannered sweet kitty…and that is very true! I am sweet and mild- mannered but – I just LOVE TO PLAY. While I am not WILD in my play (I’ll leave that to the younger kitten set!), I do love to play with other kitties or my foster Mom….I can be a single kitty as long as you promise to play with me! I also have the glossiest, sleekest feeling fur you have ever petted. I promise, it’s true! I mean, just look at my photo and you can see my fur glistening with shine and sleekness. I love to sit up in my cat tree at the very top and look over the activities going on around me – I am a bit shy at first but I’m not hiding up in the tree – I’m like most kitties in that I just enjoy being up above what’s going on and taking it all in. I was born in late April 2016, am up to date with my shots, spayed and microchipped. Oh, I do just fine with other kitties but I can also be happy as a single kitty. I am probably ok with most dogs and most children as long as we have a proper slow introduction.
I am living in a private foster home, not a shelter, so prospective adopters need to be approved to visit me there. If you are interested in meeting or adopting me, please fill out an adoption application at www.MaineCoonAdoptions.com, and a volunteer will be in touch to talk to you. No phone calls please. Thank you!

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
