When he’s on a walk, Houdini loves to sniff and go exploring. He has yet to meet a shrub or tree he doesn’t like. However, I do let people know to not pet Houdini on our walks quite yet. He’s not so confident in meeting people right off the bat, preferring to have a proper introduction instead. (I put a yellow tie on the leash so people know to be cautious when coming up to him).
Although he pulls on his walk, we’re working with him on it. There’s just so much that he wants to do on his short legs!
He loves pets and hugs from his 11 year old, two-legged foster sibling (after having a proper introduction with me to moderate). A calm environment encourages him to settle down next to her while she does her homework or watches her toons. He’s the first to greet her now when she comes downstairs in the morning. Don’t get me wrong though, even though hes calm inside, Houdini loves to ZOOM around the house…he hunkers down, smiling his wide grin, and races around the living room. It’s hilarious to see!
Mealtime is always greatly appreciated! Houdini can’t stop wiggling, even when he sits to wait for the signal to approach his food bowl.
He eats quickly and then it’s off to play or watch me wash his bowl at the kitchen sink.
I can remove his food bowl without any negative reaction as well as take away his favorite antler (to toss down the hallway, which he loves to go get and bring back to his crate to nosh on).
Houdini is house trained, heart-worm negative, neutered, and UTD on vaccinations.
