Arnie's Story...
Arnie is a positively gorgeous, sadly neglected, 6 year old collie that would love a fresh start in life. Arnie came to us from our Newark facility after he and another dog were given up by their owner. We thought the two dogs were friends but Arnie let us know quickly that he is not a fan of other dogs, so he will need to be an only pet, obviously wanting to be king of the castle. Arnie came in weighing just 45 pounds and with a dirty and matted coat. Still beautiful, and with such a beautiful personality to match, Arnie's neglected and hungry days are behind him. Although he was not taken care of too well in his former home, he was trained well. Arnie is a polite gentleman that sits perfectly when asked, walks perfectly on a leash, and wiggles his rearend perfectly when he meets new people. Arnie is very outgoing and friendly and simply adores people. It only takes a few minutes of Arnie knowing you for him to walk over calmly to you, put his paws on your lap, and start to climb up as if he's a tiny lap dog. He's such a sweet guy that is so deserving of a wonderful family that will give him a caring, loving home where he will be pampered and spoiled, as he should be. File#26669 8/24/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Arnie, a Forked River Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
