Gemini is a 1.5 year old shepard/chow mix who is playful and extremely smart.  She loves to run, play fetch and catch and knows several tricks.  She knows some sign language and catches on very quickly.  She is well mannered in the house but sometimes tries to get a goodie out of the trash or on the counter top.  Gemini loves to run outside, so would need a yard with a secure fence.

Gemini came to us from a shelter who had worked very hard on her socialization skills.  However, she probably had a past where she was severely teased or abused so is still learning to trust humans..  Right now, she does not trust men and will bark at them when they are close to her.  Gemini also guards her food and high value toys so her new owner would have to iive in the Omaha area and agree to work with our trainer on these issues, at our expense.

Gemini's ideal adopter would be a dog experienced female, willing to continue to work with her on her fear issues.  The yard would be fenced and there would be no  children in the home.   In return for these things, Gemini would provide protection, loyalty, companionship and would be one of the smartest , most eager to please dogs you have ever met..

The suggested adoption donation for Gemini is $200, which is tax deductible an goes toward the high cost of vetting our rescue dogs.  Gemini is healthy and fully vetted.  All she needs is a Second Chance!

About Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed in 2014 by a small group of devoted animal lovers, in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, with many years of rescue experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs. Our rescue focuses on small breed dogs, less than 35 pounds, of any age. It is all volunteer based, and all of our rescue dogs are living in the homes of our volunteers.
Our rescue is unique in that we offer supportive services, such as education and training, to owners considering relinquishing their pet in an effort to try to keep the dog in their home whenever possible. We also educate and offer placement assistance to owners attempting to rehome their pets through social media sites, which can often be risky for the pets as well as the owners.
