“We're fostering Bella. She is super sweet and loving. Likes to cuddle. Listens well in the yard and gets along with my ten year old (Mr. Pete) and my one year old Sasha Fierce. She is currently "chilling" on the couch with her foster brother Mr. Pete. Both of my pups really enjoy her and she enjoys them. BELLA ALSO DOES GREAT WITH KITTENS!!! I'm not sure about children because we don't have any but I'm thinking she would be loving to a child too. I am hoping we can turn this foster into an adoption but if we can't I hope she finds an amazing forever home. She certainly deserves the best! Bella rocks! She even potties in the rain! (That's awesome!)” –Jenna O. D.Please visit our website, www.colonialcapital.org to fill out an application today!

About Colonial Capital Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

The mission of Colonial Capital Humane Society is to rescue and relieve the suffering of abused, abandoned, and stray animals; provide for their care until forever homes can be found; and create greater public awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering and humane treatment of animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is located at 1860 Old Airport Road in New Bern, NC. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, appointments are required to visit our available pets.

We have adopt-a-thons several times a year at PetSense (located beside Harris Teeter) in New Bern.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption application is located on our website. Home visits will be made and vet references must be provided. There is an adoption fee on all animals that helps to offset the cost of veterinary care and spay/neuter of the animal. The basic adoption fee is $150 for cats and $175 for dogs. This fee may vary depending on the pet. Please contact adoptions@colonialcapital.org for more information.
