My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ivy is currently being fostered in Connecticut.

A little information about Ivy...
Hi! My name is Ivy and foster mom (FM) says I look like a small parson terrier mix. She doesn't think I will get much bigger as i'm about 16lbs and 1yo. I found myself all alone at a really scary place called a shelter . . . when no one came for me and no one wanted to give me a chance, FM came and asked me if I wanted to go on an adventure to find a forever home where someone would love me for me and I said yes! See, us outgoing terrier's are always up for an adventure and FM says I'm an out-going type of gal. I like to play with the other dogs but probably not too much with the cats as they seem to like to walk in front of my crate to aggravate me, as if to say, "I'm out and you're not!" (now that's just not nice or fair!). FM says “ Her energy level is high as well as her intelligence. Ivy is nearsighted, which raises her curiosity level for moving objects or animals/humans. She lived with one of Atlanta's top trainers for a month to learn confidence and appropriate ways to introduce herself to others. Ivy is crate trained and has a lifetime of love to offer. Her sincerity is charming and endearing.” I would love to find me a home with an active family as I love to go and have fun (did I tell you that I like adventures?) . . . if that might be with you, please go to http://www.homewardboundct.org/want-to-adopt-a-dog/ and fill out an application . . . I will be waiting!

If you are interested in this dog or any of our dogs please go to www.homewardboundct.org (copy and paste in browser window) and see all of the dogs coming and also fill out an application).

If you are a first time dog owner we may require a home visit prior to adoption.

If you rent or live in a condo we will require proof that you are able to have a dog. This could be a copy of the lease or condo agreement.

All the residents in the household must come to the event along with any dog in your home for a meet and greet with our trainers.

Per the request of the rescues we may limit adoptions to only Connecticut homes due to the distance and support we give them. This again is strictly the rescues decision and hope you will honor that.

We also require a follow up visit with all families within a couple of months after the adoption.

Since we know there are many questions, please realize we will answer questions of those who have filled out an application first.

Adoption Fee is no more than $385. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age and also micrcochipped.

If you have additional questions about our dogs feel free to contact us. Please understand that we are all volunteers and will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If it is close to our event we are very busy with pre-screening our applicants so please understand if we can't answer all your questions in a timely manner. Our goal is to make sure these dogs go to the best home possible.
