My name is Winnie
I am a 9 year old Chihuahua female. I was being sold online by my “family” and a very nice lady intervened and convinced them to release me to CAA Rescue for no charge. I am really very thankful for that lady. She came to get me right away and whisked me off to the park.
So all this to say my life changed quite suddenly and I am still slowly adjusting to all of this
& clearly I was not taught much in my first 9 years of life as my foster mom is teaching me now what it means to be “clean” and do my business outside
I am leash trained though and do enjoy my mini walks
I am not a big barker, I usually sit quietly by myself waiting for my foster mom to come home
& while I can be left alone for upwards of 8 hours uncrated with no destruction in the home I will have a pee pee accident
I am not pee pad trained
I am really scared of other dogs and try to stay far away from them
My foster home has cats and as long as the cats leave me alone I leave them alone too
I absolutely love people! I am your typical Chihuahua I just want to attach myself to one person and have that person be my whole life with no other pesky dogs around to steal my snuggles and attention
I have met children and enjoy their love and attention as long as they remain respectful and remember I am a dog and not a toy
I do enjoy car rides so if you are my new best friend we can have many road trips and adventures together … just you and ME!
Of course I will snuggle up next to you in bed every single night … just you and ME!
I show no possession or aggression in foster care at this time.
I am just shy and nervous with all the changes so it takes time for me to warm up so if you come to visit me please be patient and understanding that while I may not trust you right away I do want you to be my whole and only world.
I am a typical Chihuahua: smart, loyal, passionate and a gentle loving character with those that I love dearly, picky with food and scared of everything but completely fearless in my own mind
My foster mom says these are my best qualities: Affectionate, funny, playful and that I would be happy with a calm family where I would get all the love and attention I deserve.

A 3-Step process to adopt one of our foster dogs.
1. Fill the adoption form. It might seem long, but it’s the best way to find the right dog for you and your family!
2. We’ll arrange a meeting with the foster family of the dog you want to meet so you can see if s/he’s the right one for you.
3. If you decide to move forward, you’ll be asked to agree to a home visit, fill-in and sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
