Andy's Story...
Andy is a 3 year old Redtick Coonhound who spent most of his life tied to a tree with little to no food, water or shelter. He is now a very happy boy who has adjusted quite well to having a home and people to love him. (And he is always ready to jump in the car and go for a ride!) Andy can play for hours, or lie contently at your feet. He is good with children and other dogs, but barks at cats. If the weather is nice, Andy prefers to be outside playing or basking in the sun, and requires a fenced yard to keep him safe. If you want to make Andy a part of your family, apply online today!

Andy is a 3 year old Redtick Coonhound who did not have the best start in life. Despite his beginnings, this sweet lovebug will melt your heart. Andy would do best in a low-keyed home, and his ideal family would be understanding and patient as he learns to trust. If you are willing to take things slowly, he will be all too glad to reward you with his big dopey smile and wagging tail! Andy requires a fenced in yard to keep him safe. If you want to make Andy a part of your family, apply online today!

To adopt this pet, please visit www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: http://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home.

An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. You will receive an automated confirmation once your application is successfully submitted. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP. If you would like to transfer your application to a different pet, please email your confirmation number to info@louieslegacy.org

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal. Please note that we do not perform same-day adoptions.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Andy, a Cincinnati Redtick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redtick Coonhound for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Redtick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redtick Coonhound breeders who help with Redtick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
