A little information about Quincy...
Hi! My name is Poppy and foster mom (FM) said she named me that 'cause I'm as pretty as a flower :) I found myself all alone at a real scary place called a shelter and no one came to get me so FM came along, scooped me up, and said she would help me find a forever home that would never leave me alone again . . . I was soooo happy! FM says I look just like a small daschund and since I only weigh 8lbs (as of September 4) and am between 14-16 weeks old, she doesn't think I'll get too much bigger. I love to play with my other smaller foster sisters and after I get to know you, love to play and cuddle with you, too! FM said to tell you that I've been good about not having any accidents in my crate at night as long as you let me out first thing in the morning and that I like to eat my food and treats real good! Event information....
We are open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm. All final decisions are made by the rescues not Homeward Bound volunteers. If you are interested in this dog or any of our dogs please go to www.homewardboundct.org (copy and paste in browser window) and see all of the dogs coming and also fill out an application). Please note that most of these dogs are not in Connecticut and will be arriving the day prior so it is most likely not possible for you to meet them prior to the event.
If you are a first time dog owner we may require a home visit prior to adoption.
If you rent or live in a condo we will require proof that you are able to have a dog. This could be a copy of the lease or condo agreement.
All the residents in the household must come to the event along with any dog in your home for a meet and greet with our trainers.
Per the request of the rescues we may limit adoptions to only Connecticut homes due to the distance and support we give them. This again is strictly the rescues decision and hope you will honor that.
We also require a follow up visit with all families within a couple of months after the adoption.
Since we know there are many questions, please realize we will answer questions of those who have filled out an application first.
Adoption Fee is no more than $385. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age and also microchipped.
If you have additional questions about our dogs feel free to contact us. Please understand that we are all volunteers and will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If it is close to our event we are very busy with pre-screening our applicants so please understand if we can't answer all your questions in a timely manner. Our goal is to make sure these dogs go to the best home possible.
