A little information about Sawyer...
Hi! My name is,Sawyer and foster mom (FM) says she's stumped at what breed mix I might be . . . see, I've got short little legs, a longer body, and a funny corkscrew for a tail. Since I can't talk, I can't help her out or even tell her what my story is, but he says I surely must have one. I'm a little on the shy side when first meeting folks but if you will give me a chance, I'll come around for some loving and cuddles. I'm good with the other dogs here and so far for the most part ignore the cats. I'm also a good boy in my crate as I haven't had any accidents there. I'm not a big boy as I'm full grown at about 23lbs (as of September 4) and am about 1yo. I would love to find me a forever home where I won't find myself all alone again . . . if that might be with you, please go to http://www.homewardboundct.org/want-to-adopt-a-dog/ and fill out an application . . . I will be waiting!
Sawyer will be coming to our next event at:
Guilford Fair Grounds
Guilford, CT 06437
October 8th & 9th from 10 am - 4pm
We are open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm. All final decisions are made by the rescues not Homeward Bound volunteers. If you are interested in this dog or any of our dogs please go to www.homewardboundct.org (copy and paste in browser window) and see all of the dogs coming and also fill out an application). Please note that most of these dogs are not in Connecticut and will be arriving the day prior so it is most likely not possible for you to meet them prior to the event.
If you are a first time dog owner we may require a home visit prior to adoption.
If you rent or live in a condo we will require proof that you are able to have a dog. This could be a copy of the lease or condo agreement.
All the residents in the household must come to the event along with any dog in your home for a meet and greet with our trainers.
Per the request of the rescues we may limit adoptions to only Connecticut homes due to the distance and support we give them. This again is strictly the rescues decision and hope you will honor that.
We also require a follow up visit with all families within a couple of months after the adoption.
Since we know there are many questions, please realize we will answer questions of those who have filled out an application first.
Adoption Fee is no more than $385. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age and also microchipped.
If you have additional questions about our dogs feel free to contact us. Please understand that we are all volunteers and will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If it is close to our event we are very busy with pre-screening our applicants so please understand if we can't answer all your questions in a timely manner. Our goal is to make sure these dogs go to the best home possible.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
