My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yale will be coming to our adoption event at Guilford Fair Grounds on October 8th and 9th from 10am - 4pm. If you are interested in applying for Yale, please click the link in the side bar to take you to our site. All application information is available along with all the other dogs coming to our event.

A little information about Yale...

Hi! My name is Yale and foster mom (FM) says I'm some sort of small, scruffy terrier mix with a really cute underbite :) I found myself all alone at a scary place called a shelter and no one was paying me any attention as I was just so scared I hid in the back of my kennel. Being as small as I am and all black, everyone just walked by but the shelter folks could see that I was a sweet boy so called my FM to see if she could help. She said yes and came and got me . . . now I have lots of other dogs that I am learning to play with as well as ignoring those things they called cats (they're about as big as me since I'm only about 14lbs as of September 4 and about 7mo). FM said to tell you that I'm doing real good with no accidents in my crate overnight and that once I have learned you are ok, I'm doing pretty good on a leash. If you would like to meet me, please go to http://www.homewardboundct.org/want-to-adopt-a-dog/ and fill out an application . . . I'll be waiting!

Yale will be coming to our next event at:

Guilford Fair Grounds
Lovers Lane
Guilford, CT 06437
October 8th & 9th from 10 am - 4pm

Event information....

We are open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm. All final decisions are made by the rescues not Homeward Bound volunteers. If you are interested in this dog or any of our dogs please go to www.homewardboundct.org (copy and paste in browser window) and see all of the dogs coming and also fill out an application). Please note that most of these dogs are not in Connecticut and will be arriving the day prior so it is most likely not possible for you to meet them prior to the event.

If you are a first time dog owner we may require a home visit prior to adoption.

If you rent or live in a condo we will require proof that you are able to have a dog. This could be a copy of the lease or condo agreement.

All the residents in the household must come to the event along with any dog in your home for a meet and greet with our trainers.

Per the request of the rescues we may limit adoptions to only Connecticut homes due to the distance and support we give them. This again is strictly the rescues decision and hope you will honor that.

We also require a follow up visit with all families within a couple of months after the adoption.

Since we know there are many questions, please realize we will answer questions of those who have filled out an application first.

Adoption Fee is no more than $385. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age and also microchipped.

If you have additional questions about our dogs feel free to contact us. Please understand that we are all volunteers and will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If it is close to our event we are very busy with pre-screening our applicants so please understand if we can't answer all your questions in a timely manner. Our goal is to make sure these dogs go to the best home possible.
