Facts about Leon

  • Breed: Russian Blue
  • Color: Gray Or Blue
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 9898566-3675 PH
  • Hair: Short

Leon is a big, beautiful, grey boy with golden eyes and a thick-stripped tail. He has a gentle and affectionate personality and loves to play. He adores attention from the people he knows, but he may start out somewhat timid in a new home. It didn’t take this fellow long to adjust to his foster home, and in no time he was rolling around on his back waiting for belly rubs. When someone new comes to the house Leon is very cautious until he feels comfortable with the new interaction. He is a super sweet cuddle kitty. He loves to sit on the top of the couch right behind your head and cuddle into your neck. He loves to be picked up and held. He's just a nice kitty! He can be very vocal and talkative (at night) as he adjusts to being moved to a new home. He needs your patience while he settles in. Leon LOVES to be groomed, and he will sit for any length of time as long as the brush is moving down his back. Leon was found abandoned on the Mills College campus. He will need a patient and quiet home. Leon would be okay with calm cat-savvy kids over 10 years old. He may do well with a kitten or a cat friendly-dog, but probably not an adult cat. We estimate he was born in 2014. Bio # 3675 PH

About Island Cat Resources and Adoption (ICRA)

About Our Rescue Group...

ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. Our goal is to expand our program for maintaining cat colonies in our communities. To make this expansion possible, we need more volunteers.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application.
There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen the same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there. Our adoption fee structure is:

  • Cats and kittens (six months to 8 years): $100
  • Cats (over 8 years): $75
  • Two cats: Full amount for the higher amount cat, half amount for the lower amount cat

    For example: a kitten and an adult would be: $100 + $50 = $150

Prior to Adoption all cats and kittens are:

  • Spayed or neutered
  • FeLV and FIV tested
  • FVRCP vaccinated
  • De-wormed, and
  • Treated for fleas with Advantage or Frontline
