Bunny's Story...
Friendship with the help of other people rescued a group of German Shepherds from Middle Ridge Road. All the dogs are very shy and unsocialized but not aggressive. Many will have a difficult time adjusting to a home, so they should go to families who have experience with shepherds and/or puppy mill dogs. They will need to learn manners, house training and leash walking among other dog skills. This is sweet Bunny. She's a quiet and gentle 6 year old that is looking for a family to love.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bunny, a Elyria German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Elyria, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
