Woofy is a 5 year old Schnauzer mix who loves snuggling and cozying up under his favorite blanket! This old soul enjoys listening to country music and taking long walks around the town. When he's not sleeping in your lap or watching Food Network, you can find him playing with his toys or at the dog park. He is completely potty trained and can be left alone for extended hours with no issues. He also doesn't eat shoes or other items left in the house! Woofy would be best fit in a home with a yard and parents who are dog experienced. While he has many amazing qualities, he does have some resource guarding and is sensitive with strangers grabbing his collars so he will need a patient family to help him through that. For that reason, he would do better as only dog in the household and even though he has done great around children in the neighborhood he would do best in adult only household.. If you love coming home to a wagging tail and kisses, this dogs for you!!

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention, monthly flea/tick prevention, and our transport costs.

Foster Program:   Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit or email our Foster Coordinator at

About K-9 Lifesavers

About Our Rescue Group...

K-9 Lifesavers is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that rescues homeless and abandoned dogs. We save canines that are scheduled for euthanasia from high kill shelters, where there are typically held only 3-7 days. K-9 Lifesavers also strives to educate the importance of responsible dog ownership, including spay/neuter, training, and pet nutrition.

K-9 Lifesavers relies primarily upon our dedicated foster families since we do not operate a shelter. These homes provide loving, temporary care until our rescues find their forever homes. We are always looking for foster families.

Please visit our website for additional information about K-9 Lifesavers. The website lists our available dogs, volunteer opportunities, foster information, and various ways to donate.

Please help us rescue more canines waiting for their second chance at life with a forever home! Please adopt a rescue, foster, volunteer, or donate!

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process is almost always completed within one week of time you submitted your application (times can vary depending on your location, the dog’s location, and availability).

· Fill out an adoption application (Completion of the Adoption Application does not guarantee adoption- it is the first step in our adoption process).

· An adoption counselor will call you to review your application.

· The adoption counselor will call your reference, landlord/condo association, and veterinarian (if applicable).

· The adoption counselor will set up a home visit (the entire household should be present for the visit).

· The adoption counselor will schedule a time for you, your family, and any other pets to meet the dog(s) you've applied for.

Once approved, you will need to finalize your adoption by completing an adoption contract and paying the adoption fee in cash or check. At that time, available medical records will be provided along with a variety of other information.

· Young Adult Dog (7 months to 8 years) - $300

· Puppy (6 months and younger) - $350
