Thor's Story...
My name is Thor and I lost my family and my brother because the landlord changed his mind about allowing pets. My mom was crying when she had to take me and my brother to the shelter, but they told her no also, and that they couldn’t take us as there was a waiting list! There we all stood ....my mom and her young son crying, holding onto two dogs and nowhere to go. It was a pitiful sight to behold! A kind man who had come to the shelter to adopt a dog took my brother. Another young mother who fosters sometimes for OCPAW took me, because her heart was just breaking watching this scene unfold. OCPAW is now helping me find a loving home. I’m a year old and such a good sweet boy, fully vetted, obedient, house trained and just loves to be with a family and love them. I'm about 35 pounds, I love kids, cats, other dogs. I’m also crate trained and ride well in the car.....and I promise to love you too! Please call 484.883.3552 or email ocpaw@yahoo.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thor, a Sneads Ferry Labrador Retriever/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Dachshund for sale in Sneads Ferry, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Sneads Ferry.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sneads Ferry already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sneads Ferry breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Dachshund breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sneads Ferry paves the way for another one to be saved.
