Shockwave is a majestic Great Dane with a sweet and sensitive nature. He was hit by a car and surrendered to a shelter. He is recovering from orthopedic surgery on two legs and is doing very well but will need continued follow up care with our Vet for a little longer while he is healing. More about Shockwave:-5/6yrs old-130 lbs (about 10 lbs underweight at this time)-Incredibly sweet and gentle spirit -Loves to snuggle-Potty trained -Couch Potato but loves his walks and to play with toys with you.-Loves to sun bathe, loves water, loves to show off his toys and bones-Incredibly easy going and low maintenance at home.. He is pretty happy to lounge around the house, and follow you around when you are home. Otherwise he is very happy with a few walks a week, and some playtime in the yard. - Needs a home WITHOUT other dogs, NO CATS, and an adult home without young kids. Teens, or some mature kids over 12 are OK :)-Shock Is not a fan of small children at all. He is very sensitive to their movements and tries to run the other way and is actually terrified of their noises and activities or will alarm bark at them. They are scary to him so a home with kids over 12 who understand he is a big baby is best ;)Requirements to adopt:-Be a mature home owner who has experience with gentle giant dogs, and can ABSOLUTELY make the 100% commitment to being her family for the rest of his life, no matter what curve balls life throws at you.-Be able to afford to care for a Giant Breed dog. (Giant breed dogs are a bit of a speciality and are not for most people. We are looking for a very responsible and financially stable family -Experience with gentle giant breeds-No cats or small children-Enjoy giant lap dogs-Be gentle and patient We are looking for the home where Shock will be loved for the big sensitive baby he is! We cannot stress enough how amazing this sweet guy is! Being that giant breeds tend to have a shorter life time window of activity, they love walks and to have fun but cannot handle extreme exercise. He has begun to benefit from a quality grain free food and joint supplements (Glucosamine/ Omega Fish Oil). If you have had Danes you know they tend to be costly throughout their lives at certain times, and require high quality food, vet care, and total life time stability from their family. They are worth every penny and Shockwave will pay you in the sweetest little kisses, and unconditional love! This sweet, sensitive guy really thrives with guidance. He is truly a gentle giant, and loves to snuggle with you on the couch and rest his head in your lap.*Danes must be in a very well air conditioned home due to their sensitivity to extreme heat. We would love to find the perfect loving home! Go to now to submit your adoption application, and we will contact you to meet this amazing boy.
