Facts about Gizmo

  • Breed: Shih Tzu
  • Color: Gray/Blue/Silver/Salt & Pepper
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 10583510

Poor GIZMO has had a rough couple of years. His elderly owner had a stroke and he was given away to someone who in turn gave him to someone who turned him over to us. His past medical records show that he is 12 years old. He does have dry eye (common with the breed) and needs daily drops of artificial tears in his right eye. Gizmo absolutely LOVES everyone and everything! A great walker on leash and a favorite of our young volunteers. Great with cats and dogs too! Gizmo is scheduled to be neutered at the end of September and will be officially available for adoption by early October 2016. Please fill out an application at if you can give Gizmo a stable and living fur-ever home. Adoption fee of $100. Gizmo will also be microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm tested prior to adoption.

UPDATE: Gizmo has been neutered and had a senior blood panel done which looks good. Also his thyroid test came back normal. He continues to be a great guy and we are hoping he will be adopted into a loving home soon :)

About CompAnimals Pet Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

CompAnimals Pet Rescue is a small not-for-profit "no kill" rescue. Our mission is to take in unwanted, abandoned or abused dogs, cats and other small pets; to place those we can in loving, permanent homes; and to provide a sanctuary for the animals whose age, health issues or temperament precludes them from adoption. Our dogs & cats are neutered, vaccinated and receive all necessary medical treatment beford being made available for adoption. Through our volunteers and outreach programs we educate the next generation about the importance of spay/neuter and giving a lifelong home to their pets. We hope to one day put ourselves out of business but until then we will continue to rescue regardless of breed, age or medical condition.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter has visiting hours - Wed through Sat from noon 'til 5 p.m. You're welcome anytime we're open.
Most our our dogs live in foster homes, and will likely not be at the shelter unless arrangements are made ahead of time.
We do hold monthly "Meet and Greets" at local pet stores, but here, as well, to meet a specific dog arrangements should be made in advance so that
your potential new best friend can be there waiting to meet you.

Our Adoption Process...

Please visit for more information about the adoption process and our fees. Our application is online, and relatively quick and painless to fill out.
We are a small all volunteer organization. Your e-mail wiil typically receive a quicker response than your phone call.
