Jewels is a real gem! This adorable young lady was born in May 2016 and came to Heartland from Chicago Animal Care and Control. Jewels is all grey and all play! She gets along great with other young cats and is always up for some wrestling and snuggling. Jewels loves all toys, especially anything that twirls. She is very friendly, which makes her quite popular with the volunteers and staff. When you consider adopting a young cat, please remember it's a 15-20 year commitment. If you are able and willing to make that commitment, Jewels will be excited to join your household.

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
