Who doesn't love Chachi? This adorable little lady is a 12-13 year old longhaired Chihuahua mix who weighs less than 10 lbs. She made her way to City of Elderly Love after being surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter because her previous owner didn't have enough time to care for a pet. Because Chachi was suffering from some neglected dental issues typical for old pets, she was selected for euthanasia at the shelter but we couldn't let that happen to this easy-going girl. She's now safe in foster care and looking for her forever home!
Chachi has a beautiful white coat and big fox-like ears. She is very low-key and literally never barks. She is currently living with another small dog and cats! She enjoys the company of both but mainly ignores them and would do well in a home with other pets. While she doesn't currently live with any, Chachi lights up when she gets to meet children and will follow them around, especially when they'll throw her a toy! She would do well in a home with older kids who will be mindful of her small stature and low energy. Chachi loves to go for (slow) walks in the park and will stop to smell everything around her! Chachi also loves attention and being petted. This easy-peasy girl doesn't require much and would love a low-energy home to match her lazy personality!
Chachi has some typical senior dog joint stiffness and would benefit from some joint supplements to keep them loose and feeling good. While Chachi is housebroken and knows that she is supposed to go to the bathroom outside, does have a bit of incontinence and can't always hold her bladder for too long. She does great in diapers when she's indoors and goes promptly when outside. Chachi will soon be spayed and have a dental cleaning and extraction of any of her old lady teeth that are bugging her.
Chachi is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is vaccinated, microchipped and will be spayed prior to going to her forever home. She is also negative for heartworm and lymes disease. Interested in adopting her? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at email@example.com!
