Clementine (Clemmie) came to us in mid-August in very bad shape.  She was starving, severely dehydrated, and covered in fleas & infected ant bites.  You could see her hips, spine, and ribs. Had she not been found when she was, she likely would not have lived another 48 hours.  She has suffered much in her 3 months of life.
Clementine is a Chihuahua who weighs between 4 and 5lbs and is approximately 4 months old.  It is unknown how big she will get, but in the short time that I have had her, she has grown very little.  She cannot be spayed until she is 6 months old.

Clementine is very intelligent, loves people, and gets along well with my other dogs.  She is fearless and has no idea that she is little.  She’s a great watch-dog (but not an incessant yapper), very playful & affectionate.  She latches on to one person and prefers that person above others, but likes everybody.  She is not yet housebroken, but is using puppy pads.  She would do extremely well with children as long as they are old enough to be gentle with her because of her size.  Oh and BTW, at night she sleeps in the bed with her humans.  She’s a natural born cuddle-er.  She’s not at all shy and loves meeting new people.

Please apply to adopt her at:   The adoption fee is $250, and covers all vetting, including shots, HW test, microchip and spay. We do home checks and have a 10 day in-home trial period before finalizing the adoption. Our standard adoption fees cover spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, vet check and heartworm test. Our dogs are current on heartworm preventative. Puppies over 6 months and adults are $250 and puppies under 6 months are $300. Seniors are $150 (dogs over 9yrs).

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
