Abby's Story...
Abby is a nine year old spayed and house trained German Short Hair Pointer. Her owner had health problems and couid no longer care for her. Abby has been trained to hunt but her owner reported she has become gun shy. She does not get along with other dogs or cats but gets along well with children. Abby should be the only pet in the home. Because she is nine years old Abby is part of the Adopt a Senior Program which means her adoption fee is waived with an approved application

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Somerset German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Somerset, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Somerset.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Somerset already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Somerset breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Somerset paves the way for another one to be saved.
