We need your help. Chico needs a new foster home or forever home asap. His foster brother just hasn't accepted having another bog boy in the house. Chico has done nothing wrong and will have to be boarded if we cannot find a new foster or foster-to-adopt home for him.
Below is Chico's information.
This handsome boy is an 11-year-old chow/shar pei mix who doesn't act a day over 8. He has been very loved his whole life. Sadly his owner's health has forced him to look for a new forever home. Chico is very sweet and very agreeable to everything, especially food.
Chico is very loving and lovable. He is very friends and loves attention. Chico gets along great with cats and other dogs, but would also do fine as an only pet. He has been known to let kittens crawl on top of him. As far as we know, Chico is good with all kids. We're not sure about really little ones, but we would feel comfortable placing him with any gentle children.
Chico has great manners although his constant appetite could get him into trouble if food were left within his reach. Chico also needs more leash practice. He is eager to please and has already improved his skills. Chico is pretty medium in his energy--he is always up for a walk, but also loves to lounge. He would probably love having a lap to lounge on. He's also independent at times and just happy to know his people are around.
Chico is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is also solidly housebroken and trustworthy not crated when unsupervised (see note about unprotected food). Chico will speak up if he needs food, water, potty break, or kisses. He is just so easy to care for and to love. Chico is a healthy boy, but does have some allergies. He will need a good-quality food and Apoquel allergy meds ever day to prevent him from feeling itchy. We will provide a foster home whatever Chico needs including food and meds.
Please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $125.
