Goofy's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Goofy's Story...
Goofy is a 2-3 year old hound dog. According to previous owners he is 1/2 bloodhound, 1/4 redbone, 1/4 bluetick. Goofy is 90 lbs of love. He is a big snuggly lap dog. He is great with new people and would probably make a wonderful family dog. Families with toddler aged kids should be aware that he does have a very strong waggy tail that is right at toddler face level. Goofy really enjoys the company of other medium to large sized dogs, we aren't sure what he'd think of the little ones. He'd love another canine buddy in his forever home. Goofy is NOT good with cats and cannot go to a home with cats in it.

Goofy is a new arrival with RCHS but so far he is doing great in his foster home. He has not had any accidents but has gotten into a few things he shouldn't have. His foster reports that he is mostly good at not repeating bad behavior if you can catch him in the act to correct him. He is confident and so far not very vocal. He is fairly high energy so we would like to see him have a fenced yard in his forever home. Without a fence he cannot be unsupervised or he will put his nose to the ground and follow it until he's lost. Goofy is a great passenger in the car and didn't give the vet any trouble.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Goofy, a Manhattan Bloodhound/Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound/Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Bloodhound/Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound/Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bloodhound/Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
