Dalton's Story...
Hullo there friends! The name's Dalton and I'm looking for a family that will give me the love I crave. I just can't get enough attention. Whether it's in the form of lap-sitting, snuggling, ear rubs, or playing, I really enjoy spending time with people. I'm just an all around adorable pup! In fact, do to my affable nature, I would be a good fit for families of all shapes and sizes. As long as you're looking for a loyal companion, I will be a good fit for you. Do keep in mind though that having come into the shelter as a stray, I am still learning basic household manners. So I will need someone dedicated to helping me learn skills like house-training. I do well with other dogs though, so should be able to adjust to a multi-dog household. In order to facilitate my transition though, if you do have other dogs make sure and schedule a meet-and-greet before taking me home. If all of this sounds like I may be the fluffy little gentleman you have been seeking, stop by the shelter today. Let's take a walk and get to know each other!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dalton, a Harrisonburg Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
