Skippy's Story...
I’m Skippy, an 8 year old lady weighing 55 lbs. My owner passed away this summer and my world has been turned upside down. I was just left out on my own to wander. I was very scared and stayed close to my old home but I was too afraid to come to anyone. One day some people caught me and took me to a place called a shelter. I really got scared then so the shelter workers called AGB to come get me. AGB found I have heartworms and they promise to give me the medicine I need to get well. What I really need is to find a forever family. I am a little shy at first, but I warm up very quickly. I am sweet and gentle and want nothing more than to be loved and to give love and loyalty in return. Could you be the one for me? If you think so, please let AGB know you want to meet me, Skippy. PS… If you can make a donation to help pay for my medicine I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skippy, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
