Josie's Story...
Meet Josie. The most overweight dog in Caddo County. She is the coolest, funny, loveable, and did I say roundest dog. She is great with other dogs and kids. We've seen her play with the other pound puppies so well. She will be ready for adoption after she is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped on 9/20.
She is a low rider, possibly Bassett cattle dog mix?
You really need to meet this spunky girl. $95 adoption fee covers vet services. Located in the Hinton pound. (Better pictures to come)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josie, a Hinton Basset Hound/Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Cattle Dog for sale in Hinton, or seeking a Basset Hound/Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Hinton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hinton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hinton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Cattle Dog breeders who help with Basset Hound/Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hinton paves the way for another one to be saved.
