My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we saw Benny posted on the Town of Willington Animal Control Facebook page, we reached out to the ACO to see if we could help. When he'd gone to be neutered, a tumor had been found that they feared was cancerous. We offered to bring him into our rescue and deal with his medical issues.

He'd been at the Willington pound for quite some time, and before that, he'd been a resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut Animal Control - he had been living in kennels for a long time!

It took us some time to find a foster family for Benny, but finally that happened, and Benny became a part of our rescue.

We had the tumor removed, the pathology report came back, and the tumor was BENIGN - NOT CANCER! So our guy Benny is good to go! We are SO happy and relieved for him!

Recently Bennie had to move from his foster home, and is temporarily in boarding at our vet, while we find a new foster home - or preferably, a FOREVER home for him. We want to make sure his stay in boarding is brief! After months at the pound, Benny needs to be in a home!

He will do well in a home with another dog-friendly dog his own size. He would love some human siblings 13 years old or older. He should not be in a home with cats.

He is a young guy, about two years old. An active family would be wonderful for him - he would be a great hiking companion :)

Benny is a happy, friendly, lovable dog who will make a terrific new family member.

He has been waiting a very long time to find his forever home. So ... let's not keep him waiting any longer!
