This smiling, happy pup is Bucky Barkes (The Winter Solider). Bucky is a 4-month-old, tan terrier mix with a black muzzle. Bucky came to us after he was found in the street, hit by a car. His front left leg was broken, which the vet's at the shelter had to amputate, but Bucky doesn’t let that keep him down!
Bucky always seems to wear a smile on his face, and is very playful and affectionate. He also loves to snuggle and give lots of kisses! He loves to play with other dogs and squeaky toys, but he also knows how to kick back and relax as well. He will love to lay on his back and flop his front leg over and paw at you.
Bucky would do great in any home, as a single pet or with other animals. He’s great with dogs and cats, and would most likely do well with young children as he is not mouthy - but he can have the tendency to jump on those he loves. He would be very sad in a home where he isn’t allowed up on the couch to snuggle with his humans.
Bucky is crate trained and takes to it well, and he sleeps through the night quietly. Bucky is making good progress with house-training and does well on a leash, but has trouble wearing a harness due to his missing limb.
He may not be the best running partner, but Bucky will run circles right around your heart! Want to get to know Bucky better? Contact DPA today!
