Blaze's Story...
Blaze is a handsome black and tan male German Shepherd puppy who is about 9 months old. He is an affectionate boy on the soft side who really appreciates a compatible dog friend around who isn't too pushy. He has been playing well with the three other male and female German Shepherds in his foster home. While he didn't get much training from his prior owners, he wants to please and is learning crate training and manners for the first time. We don't know how he is with cats but he likes to play so might want to chase them. Blaze is available to adopt now.

Like all puppies he needs owners who are home enough, and have the time, energy, strength, and patience to guide him through his chewing, digging, and mouthing stages (which can last until they are 2-3 years old), and who will provide regular exercise, socialization and training so he will grow up to be a mannerly adult dog. All puppies bark incessantly, dig, and destroy things if they are left alone for long periods of time, and thus, need to be with owners who do not leave them alone for long hours. Priority will be given to families with experience raising German Shepherd Dog or similar puppies.

If you are interested in meeting/adopting Blaze, please fill out our adoption questionnaire which you can find at http://www.scgsr.org/adoption/aq/.

Blaze is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and comes with a collar, all included in adoption fee.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blaze, a Walnut Creek German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Walnut Creek, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Walnut Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walnut Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walnut Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walnut Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
