Facts about Birdie

  • Breed: Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog Mix
  • Color: Brindle - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Birdie is a beautiful and extremely intelligent girl that unfortunately wasn't well socialized as a puppy. Because of this she growls at all new people initially. She is fairly easily and quickly "won over" with some kind words and a few treats. Because of this Birdie needs a quiet home, without the people traffic and activity of a home that has children. She needs a very dog savvy owner that is prepared to work with her.
She has keen herding instincts and would love to be a working dog also.

She is a year and a half and weighs about 44 pounds. She's heartworm negative and on prevention, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella. .

Please go to our website and fill out an application

Our adoption fee $145 includes spay/neuter, parvo/distemper series of shots, rabies if dog is old enough, bordatello, heartworm preventative while here, worming, and microchipping.

We appreciate your patience as our volunteer-only team reviews your application and updates our website.

About North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a private, no-kill rescue in North Carolina. Our mission is to help end pet overpopulation, abandonment and neglect. We provide care and find homes for dogs of any breed, age or medical need. We have saved over 2,000 dogs in the last 10 years. We hope to have this number keep growing as we strive to save these sweet souls.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting any of our wonderful NMAR dogs, please fill out an adoption application: http://www.northmeckanimalrescue.org/adoption-information/adoption-application/

We offer a variable adoption fee structure. Variable adoption pricing allows us to provide top quality care for all animals. Adoption fees are based on several factors such as, age, size, breed or temperament. Having a higher adoption fee for some animals who find a home quickly enables us to create a financial legacy for those animals in needs of lifesaving medical and behavioral intervention. Our basic adoption includes a veterinary and behavior screening/testing, spay/neuter surgery, all initial vaccinations, deworming and a microchip.
