Jax is an 8-month old stud who is slowly growing into his paws. This stunning boy was surrendered to us by a “family” that just didn’t care. He is a survivor of domestic violence; he was beat regularly. Despite that, he loves humans. He can be a little slow to trust – and by slow, I mean, minutes or hours to warm up. He loves every one he meets if they give him a chance to decide they’re good humans. He has had little to no training prior to coming to us but is a work in progress. He’ll be a master piece soon. He’s now working with a trainer and has super supportive foster parents helping him become the well balanced dog we know he can be. He already walks well on a leash and works hard for treats. We think he’s a weimewaner mix and will be about 85 lbs when he gets to a healthy weight. We recommend a household with strong human leadership and patience. At this time, he would like to be an only animal in the home and should not be in a home with children. He is very playful and can be mouthy... he is currently working on his manners with humans and other dogs. Once he has those, children and dogs would be great for him!

About K9 Kismet Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

K9 Kismet was founded to provide a resource for families of 4-legged (or 3-legged... we love our tripods) furries to be able to stay together in times of financial hardship by offering assistance with food, medical, and housing relocation services.

Our secondary mission is to rescue shelter animals and find them forever home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets are residents of their foster family homes and are available for meet and greets by appointment. We are currently too small to hold adoption events, but may be invited to participate in events hosted by other rescues. Stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for event announcements.

Our Adoption Process...

All adopters must be willing to complete an adoption application and home check prior to placement of the animal. All members of the household are required to meet the pet prior to adoption. If other animals are in the home, a meet and greet among the animals is also required. We offer foster-to-adopt options if additional time is needed.

Adoption fees vary on animal and medical status, but in general are:

$200 - young and adult dogs*
$150 - seniors*
$150 - young and adult cats*
$100 - senior cats*

$300* for puppies or kittens who have not yet received all vaccinations prior to entering our rescue - getting them ready to enter mainstream society is expensive!

*Prices listed above are maximum prices. If our costs to care for the animal are less than the amounts listed above, K9 Kismet will offer a discount.

All animals are vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.
