Speedy's Story...
Speedy
Age: 12 years

Hola! I'm Speedy Gonzalez, the most adorable little dude west of of Lake Michigan! I am such a sweet boy, and I get along well with all other dogs and cats. I'm good with kids, too, but should only live with grown ups for a couple of reasons. One, I can be a little greedy with snacks, food and toys. And two, I have significant arthritis in my spine and hips - resulting in weakness in my hind legs. I get a little wobbly when I run, but it doesn’t slow me down. Because of this, carpeted floors are best for me, so you can watch me zoom around as I truly live up to my name! I do need to be carried up and down the stairs, but I'm a teeny guy. I happily wear a belly band in the house since I tend to tinkle inside, but I love it and I do go potty outside, too. I am the sweetest, cutest, snuggliest and most fun little guy who loves life and cannot wait to find that special someone to love me in my golden years.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Speedy, a Palatine Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
