> Can we talk? My name is Estes. I was named for Estes Park, CO--a beautiful area in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a sweet and pretty cat, but lately my life feels more like Murphy's Law. I need a home, but it needs to be the right home. I am so anxious for human companionship, that I am known to reach out to hug your leg so you won't walk away from me. Please don't tell anyone. After all, I'm a calico and I must maintain my reputation.
> My story: I came into Candy's Cats as a kitten with my two siblings in Oct 2015. We had a blast playing with each other, but then my luck changed. I was the first one to be adopted!! I thought things were going well, but the next thing you know, my family dropped me off at a high-kill shelter. I don't know why and neither does Candy's Cats because they won't return our calls. I came back to my foster home in September 2016 and I head to Petsmart every other week. No offense to Petsmart, but I'm scared when I'm there! The store is too noisy for me and I just want to hide. It's hard to be adopted when I can't show off my good qualities.
> I thought my luck had changed in January 2017 when a nice family took me home. They were very eager for me to meet their new cat and explore their home, but I needed more time to acclimate to my surroundings before I felt comfortable. Sadly, they returned me 2 days later (sigh). I was purring within 10 minutes of being back in a familiar setting, so I just need time to get to know you so we can be a match!
> My foster mom thinks it would be best for me to go to a home where I can be the only cat. She and I also request that the household be on the calm and quiet side. Loud noises scare me, so if there are young children running around, or if you have an active household, it would be in my best interests if you check out another kitty who needs a home. I really want the third time to be the charm. Please, can we be each other's Valentines? I'll love you with purrs, head rubs, and kitty kisses....and, okay, maybe a few leg hugs, too.
> **If you are interested in adopting Estes, please complete an online application. If everything is a go, her foster mom has offered to bring her to your home for a trial run (foster-to-adopt) so Estes can avoid going back to the store.
