Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Amethyst is one of Rebecca's litter of 8, born July 23, 2016, in the safety of a foster home. A very pregnant, stray Rebecca was rescued - just days before whelping - while wandering aimlessly in the middle of traffic in a very busy street. Amethyst is the largest female puppy in her litter. She's very playful and extremely smart. More than anything, she wants to be tall...most 6-month-old puppies her size don't like to be carried, but if you ever need or want to pick her up she's glad to oblige. Amethyst will happily play with her siblings, us, our older dogs -- anyone, really, as long as they'll chase her, or play tug-of-war, or blow bubbles for her. She *loves* bubbles. She's crate trained, paper trained, and partially housebroken. She's so curious about everything that she can be a little excitable on the leash (especially in new settings) so allowing a little extra time for walks in the first week in her new home will go a long way toward getting her housebroken quickly. Amethyst knows basic commands (sit, leave it, wait, and play) in both English and ASL (in ASL we use 'drop' for 'leave it'), and is extremely treat-motivated. She LOVES older dogs, and although she is naturally rough-and-tumble she's happy to adjust to a more sedate playing style as long as she can have a little time to run in the backyard or burn off some steam in other ways most days. Amethyst would be the perfect fit for a large family with other pets, or with someone who's active enough to keep her happy.
