MEET SAMANTHA!!! Samantha is very sweet and loves to please. She adores bellyrubs, snacks, and even the smallest bit of attention - a smile, a raised eyebrow - makes her tail thump with happiness! This mature girl loves leisurely walks and gets VERY excited when it is walk time! Samantha enjoys playing with toys and snuggling with humans.

Before Samantha was rescued, she contracted Valley Fever, which damaged her right hip and socket. She has become strong from massage, exercise, and stretching, and is now quite mobile and comfortable with activity. She adores young children but cannot withstand rough treatment of her hip and back leg. She LIVES to meet and interact with people, and would be an excellent hostess in a small office or professional practice. Wheelchairs do not concern this girl at all - she is simply eager to meet the human sitting in the wheelchair!

Samantha needs a foster! For more information about fostering, read our foster page.

About Underdog Rescue of Arizona

About Our Rescue Group...

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We attend multiple adoption events throughout the valley during Spring and Fall.
If you are interested in a specific pet, please complete our adoption application found on our website and we can then coordinate a meet and greet.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website:

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.
