Calvin's Story...
Calvin is a confident and cuddly Russian Blue mix girl, with a tomboy name. Calvin loves to sleep curled up on your chest right under your chin, or sprawled out in the crook of your arm. She likes to follow you around and will meow for attention when she wants to cuddle. Calvin runs around with her catnip mice in her mouth and will carry them all over as she plays. She also enjoys jingle balls, chasing the elusive red dot, and wrestling with her catnip banana. She likes being held and carried around, and will head butt your face while purring like crazy as you pet her. She proudly sticks her tail in the air and will climb up to head butt your face when she’s really happy.

She likes grooming herself, or even your hand or face while you pet her. Calvin was rescued as a young stray kitten in Northern Virginia along with her siblings (who’ve since been adopted) and her mom. She either needs to go to a home with another young and active pet companion, or she needs to be adopted with another kitten or a young adult cat. Calvin has lived with other cats and dogs in her foster home, she gets along well with all of them and enjoys playing and cuddling with other animals as well as people.

Calvin was born on June 27th, 2016. She's been spayed, micro-chipped, is up to date on all of her vaccines, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Calvin, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
